Donald P. Merrifield, S.J. Scholarship Award

The LMU Latino Alumni Association(LAA) Donald P. Merrifield, S.J. Scholarship Award is given annually to a senior undergraduate student who demonstrates academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to social justice in the Jesuit tradition. The LAA Scholarship awards annual scholarships to students pursuing an undergraduate degree at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) who demonstrate a strong commitment to the Latino/a community. Student must be enrolled full-time at LMU (undergraduate minimum 12 units per term).

To be considered for an LMU LAA Donald P. Merrifield, S.J. Scholarship, the individual must fulfill the following criteria:

1. Applicant demonstrates a commitment to the Latino/a community.

2. Applicant has submitted a completed application with the requested prompts by the designated deadline. Completeness of the information and quality of the prompts will be taken into consideration.

3. Applicant has applied for financial aid by the deadline, for additional information see http://financialaid.lmu.edu

4. Applicant has demonstrated financial need as determined by the LMU Financial Aid Office.

5. Applicant has a cumulative minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 at LMU.

6. Applicant is actively involved in community service as detailed in their application.
